 Green Day 2013

As is tradition in St. Mirin’s we will once again be holding our annual Green Day celebrations. As a Green Flag School, we encourage our young people to be environmentally responsible by following our Eco Code (please see the link in our Eco Schools section of this website for further details).

Once again, pupils and staff are invited to wear something green on the day (No football tops as per GCC Guidelines) as well as a pair of trainers to celebrate ‘Sport Your Trainers Day’.

As a school which takes recycling very seriously, we are asking every pupil and member of staff to bring a plastic bottle or can for recycling, or indeed at least one item for our Rag Bag Recycling Scheme.

Pupils in every class will participate in an Eco-related activity throughout the school day which will act as a very positive reminder of the need for the whole school community to work together if we are to renew our Green Flag.

Parents of Miss Reid’s P3/4 pupils are in for a special treat as you are invited to attend an Eco-related display of knowledge at 11am in our school hall. These pupils have learning all about the 3 Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) and look forward to entertaining you with an Eco Fashion Show, songs and lots of interesting facts!

Stand back Naomi Campbell, here comes P3/4!
