Dear Parents/Carers,

In this very busy term I thought it wise to give you as much notice as possible of up and coming events and relevant information.

As the weather turns from warm drizzle to cold rain / snow, it is advisable that children bring a warm waterproof jacket with a hood and sturdy shoes or boots to school every day until the warmer weather returns.  If any families are experiencing any difficulties with this request please contact the school as soon as possible and ask to speak to me, Mrs Groome – Head Teacher or Mrs Dunbar - Depute Head Teacher.

May I remind you that there is only an adult presence in the playground from 8.40am.  Pupils will only be brought into the hall on mornings of heavy rain IF a member of Senior Management is available to supervise.  In the unlikely event that the school has to close, announcements will be made on local radio and the websites of Glasgow City Council and St Mirin’s Primary.

We will be celebrating St Andrew’s Day on Thursday 30th November.  Parents and carers of P5a and P5b pupils are invited to attend a Prayer Service and a recital of Scottish songs, dance & poetry in the hall at 9.30am.  If possible, pupils should wear something tartan to school (scarf, hat, socks, dress, kilt etc) Pupils will attend the same service in the afternoon and will receive a treat of irn-bru and shortbread provided by the Parent Council.  If you do not wish your child to receive the treat, please put your request in writing to their class teacher.

Please send in any items you wish to donate to the class Christmas Hampers.  (Suggestions below)
