Financial Fortnight Begins!

Following the success of last session’s ‘Money Month’, pupils and staff will this year participate in ‘Financial Fortnight’ from 18/11/13 until 29/11/13. Pupils will enjoy a planned, coherent programme of financial education over this two week period. Representatives from Barclays Bank, RBS, The Greater Easterhouse Money Advice Project and the Chartered Banker Institute will visit classes during this time to work with pupils on a wide variety of money-related activities.

Financial Education experiences prepare children and young people with skills for life and work. The high quality learning experiences in St. Mirin’s Primary School help our young people to develop the four capacities of Curriculum for Excellence, particularly in relation to becoming responsible citizens and effective contributors to society. Within the context of numeracy across learning, pupils will enjoy a multitude of money-related activities across a range of curricular areas.
A special thanks to those parents who have volunteered to visit classes during this time in an effort to share their financial expertise with our young people - your input is very much appreciated.
